What is the Audanika?

The Audanika is a new digital musical instrument that is especially suited for learning the basics of making music together.

Audanika's patented tone system visualizes important relationships of tones, chords and keys in the form of colors, fields and symbols.

The resulting visual language makes it possible to teach even children important compositional basics.

The team behind Audanika

Dr. Gabriel Gatzsche is the inventor of the Audanika. From 2005 to 2010, he developed the basics of the Audanika as part of his doctoral thesis at Fraunhofer IDMT under Prof. Karlheinz Brandenburg in Ilmenau.

Judith Gatzsche is a children's health and medical nurse. She advises us on communication and design issues and supports us in our work with children.

As a music therapist, Dr. Markus Sommerer helps children and young people to become courageous and strong. As initiator and leader of the working group "Music Therapy with Digital Media", the use of modern technology in therapy is close to his heart.

As a certified guitar teacher, David Gatzsche is an expert in instrumental playing, music didactics and harmony. He trains young people in the field of music at the state vocational training center in Weimar.

Abiodun Ajibade is supported as a scholarship holder by Grace Cloud GmbH and the state of Thuringia in the form of a Thuringia scholarship. As part of his mandatory internship, Abiodun is currently working with us as a software developer.

Tim Stapperfenne is studying Applied Media Sciences at the Technical University of Ilmenau. As part of his internship, he is providing strategic communications support for the market launch of Audanika.

Tabea Kohler works as a musical elementary teacher. She helps us to develop musical games and exercises for preschool children.

The server of our website collects and stores data of every request in a log. The collected data is anonymized. Just the IP address of the calling machine is saved. Other logged information are Browser type, browser version, operating system, screen size, mobile device type, name of calling provider, HTTP status codes, referrer-URL (the website, you have visited our site from), date and time of the request, the amount of transferred data is stored.
We embed YouTube videos on our website. Please note the privacy policy for videos of the platform "YouTube" of the third-party provider Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
The SoundPrism apps regularly calls our server. The purpose of these calls is to download the latest store content and a list of new notifications. These calls are logged in the same way visits to our website are logged. See above for more details.
We are not aware of any server requests performed by the app Audanika. The Audanika is developed on the basis of Flutter from Google. Should you see any network requests, please inform us. We will care quickly about that.
We use MyFonts on this website, a service provided by the MyFonts Inc.

This involves the following data being processed: Your IP address; The date and time of access; The quantity of data transferred; The provider making the request.
Scope and purpose of the data processing: On the basis of the licence conditions relating to the use of fonts on our website, we track “pageviews” by counting the number of visits to the website for billing purposes and passing this information on to MyFonts. To determine whether pageviews are being tracked correctly or whether the process is being hindered by the use of ad blockers, we check if there is an ad blocker enabled and pass this information on to Adobe if necessary. The data may be transferred by activating JavaScript code in your browser.
Data transfer/recipients: Your data is transferred to MyFonts Inc., 500 Unicorn Park Drive, Woburn, MA 01801, US. A European Commission decision governs the adequacy of the data protection level in respect of the transfer of personal data to MyFonts servers in the USA.
Duration of storage: The data is stored until the intended purpose has been fulfilled. It is then deleted.
Legal basis for processing: Data is processed based on our interest in the use of MyFonts fonts on our website. In our assessment, this legitimate interest is not overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subjects (Article 6, Paragraph 1f GDPR). On request, we would be happy to provide you with more information about how we have weighed up these interests.
Right to object: You have the right to object to this processing on ground relating to your particular situation at any time. If you exercise this right, we will no longer process this data for these purposes, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or unless the processing is being used to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
